A 17-year-old boy riding from Nuneaton has been arrested on suspicion of possessing a bladed weapon, possession of cannabis, and driving without insurance.
This is following an alleged incident of road rage today (16 May) at around 1:30pm, which reportedly resulted in another motorist being threatened with a knife.
The boy was allegedly riding his motorbike near Corporation Street in Nuneaton when he collided with a car, before threatening the other driver with a knife.
He was quickly located by local patrol officers and arrested.
Inspector Chris Kitson said of the incident “Riders of motorcycles being ridden in an anti-social manner is a concern to us, and there are ongoing efforts by local patrols and neighbourhoods’ teams to disrupt those responsible.
“We will identify and deal with culprits with the help from our communities who report incidents to us, and record such incidents, as they are fed up with the issues they cause and the danger they cause.
“Where such behaviour escalates to colliding with vehicles and threatening the other party with a knife they can expect to be located quickly and arrested, and the bike taken from them, as has been the case this afternoon.”
Chief Inspector Kris Shore, Northern Area Commander, said “Warwickshire Police strives to keep you the public safe. We’re taking a zero-tolerance approach to ASB and bike thefts in our county, and we need your help to tackle it.
“If you’re aware of nuisance motorbikes, threatening behaviour, violence, ASB – report it to us as soon as possible, and we’ll come down on it like a tonne of bricks.”
