Black has been charged with Section 18 wounding with intent.
Townsend has been charged with Section 18 grievous bodily harm with intent, common assault, and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.
Both have been remanded until their court date on 25 July at Warwick Crown Court.
This follows an incident during which a man in his 60s allegedly became involved in an altercation following a reported confrontation with a group of males riding off-road motorbikes in Rathbone Close at around 4:10pm on Thursday 20 June.
