Rhys Millerchip, 24 of Wood Street, Nuneaton, has been charged with Section 18 wounding with intent.
He will appear in Warwick Crown Court on 18 July.
This follows the events of the early hours of 1 June 2024, during which a man was allegedly attacked on Jodrell Street in Nuneaton.
The victim was reportedly punched in the left side of his face by another man. Following this, the assailant allegedly put his hand into his pocket before swinging another punch at him.
The victim was left with a deep laceration to his cheek, which required stitches.
The suspect was found and arrested following a wanted appeal.
