A couple who ran a drugs enterprise out of their house in Nuneaton have been sentenced.
The pair were arrested as part of an intelligence led operation by Nuneaton Serious and Organised Crime Team.
In February 2021, the court issued a warrant to raid their house in Russett Avenue after detectives presented evidence the property was being used to deal from.
While officers were on their way to execute the warrant, detectives saw one of the suspects, Anton Pearson, driving in the opposite direction. They stopped the car and arrested him after seizing cocaine, cash and a list of names of people who owed money.
The detectives moved on to the house to execute the warrant in Russett Avenue where they found Emma Morris. Also, in the property they found tick lists of money owed, mobile phones, plastic seal bags, scales, and cash.
Analysis of the seized mobile phones found evidence of drug dealing.
Pearson (pictured), 36, currently of Victoria Road, Burbage appeared at Warwick Crown Court on Tuesday (4 June) where he was jailed for two years and nine months after pleading guilty to possession of cocaine with intent to supply, being concerned in the supply of cocaine and possession of cannabis.
Morris, 44, also currently of Victoria Road, Burbage was given a 23-month prison sentence suspended for two years after pleading guilty to being concerned in the supply of cocaine and possession of cannabis.
Detective Constable Stanton from Nuneaton Serious and Organised Crime Team said: “This is another good conviction for the Serious and Organised Crime team who are working hard to tackle the drug trade in Warwickshire. People like Morris and Pearson think they can operate under the radar, but we are working hard with our communities to gather intelligence around the supply of drugs; we will always act on this.”
If anyone has concerns about drug dealing you can report it by going to Tell us something you've seen or heard | Warwickshire Police or call 101. Alternatively, information can be provided anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
