Jonathan Laws, James Mitchell, and Gareth Heywood have all been charged today (23 January) with theft from a shop.
Jonathan Laws, 41 from Church Road in Nuneaton, has been charged with four of counts theft from a shop
This is following a series of incidents which took reportedly took place between December 2023 and January 2024 at three different locations in Nuneaton:
On 29 December 2023, £300 of spirits were allegedly taken from a supermarket on Camborne Drive.
On 11 January 2024, £180 worth of spirits were reportedly stolen from a supermarket on Newtown Road.
On 21 January, 16 blocks of cheese worth £70 in total were allegedly stolen from a supermarket on Queens Road.
On 29 January, three bottles of whisky were allegedly stolen from a supermarket on Vicarage Street.
Laws is due to appear in Coventry Magistrates Court today.
James Mitchell, 33 from Middleborough Road in Coventry, has been charged with theft from a shop.
This follows an incident on 11 January 2024 during which £180 bottles of alcoholic spirits were allegedly taken from a supermarket on Newtown Road.
Mitchell will appear in Warwickshire Magistrates Court on 15 March 2024 for his first hearing.
Gareth Heywood, 56 of Burbury Close in Leamington Spa, has been charged with four counts of theft from a shop.
This follows four incidents which took place in Leamington Spa:
On 21 January 2024 at a shop on The Parade, a £16 of magnesium powder was allegedly taken with no attempt to pay.
Also on 21 January at a different shop on The Parade, an £18 skincare set was allegedly stolen – the man responsible was reportedly challenged outside of the store by a security guard, and the skincare set returned.
On 22 January, a quantity of meat was allegedly stolen from a supermarket on Willes Road.
Also on 22 January, £38 worth of alcohol was allegedly stolen from another supermarket on The Parade. The man responsible was reportedly stopped outside by a police officer, and subsequently arrested.
Heywood will appear in Coventry Magistrates Court today.
