The ever popular BikeSafe workshop, the UK’s No 1 police-led motorcycle safety initiative is back in Warwickshire for 2024 with 92 spaces available over 14 Sundays from April to October.
During the one day workshop, the friendly Bikesafe trainers will take you through a mix of classroom based training and police observed rides to help you fine-tune the skills and techniques you need to improve your safety on two wheels. It doesn’t matter how long you’ve been riding, we all need to check and sharpen our skills at the start of a new season and Bikesafe is the perfect opportunity to do that whilst spending the day with fellow bike enthusiasts.
The observed ride with a police graded motorcyclist covers attitude, observation, cornering, overtaking, filtering, junctions, group riding, hazard awareness and the system of motorcycle control.
The cost of the workshop is heavily subsidised and at £65 per person represents an excellent investment in your own skills and safety. It also makes a great gift. The workshops take place at Warwickshire Police Headquarters in Leek Wootton, CV35 7QA and start at 8.30am.
Sergeant Shaun Bridle said “Ongoing training is the key to becoming a safer, more skilled rider and with this is the added benefit that riding a motorcycle becomes more enjoyable. We also fully understand that with time invested in quality post-test training, comes less rider risk and reductions in motorcycle casualty statistics.”
“Whilst we are encouraging bikers to take responsibility for their own safety by continuously refreshing and improving their motorcycle skills, we are also asking drivers to please take extra care and look properly for bikers particularly at T-junctions where almost a third of motorcycle collisions occur.”
Workshops always book up quickly, so to check the availability of BikeSafe in Warwickshire or elsewhere in the country and to find out more follow this link 2024 BikeSafe availability - BikeSafe
