Rhys Millerchip, 24 of Wood Street, Nuneaton, has been charged with aggravated burglary and criminal damage.
He will appear in Coventry Magistrates Court for his first hearing today.
This follows an incident on Monday 5 August at 3am on Park Lane in Nuneaton, during which it is alleged that three males broke into a house using force and caused damage to the inside of the property.
One of the males reportedly had an axe, which they allegedly used to damage a car belonging to the victim.
The males then reportedly left the premises in a dark coloured Audi car.
