Led by Police Community Support Officer (PCSO) Angi Gavin, we’re giving women and girls the chance to get out and about while chatting about personal safety.
More than 65 residents have already joined us for walks in Nuneaton, Stratford, Southam, Warwick and Leamington since the beginning of August.
Part of our work to tackle violence against women and girls (VAWG), the walks are open to women and girls living and working in Warwickshire. Under 14s can take part if they’re accompanied by an adult and Angi is keen for more people to get involved.
She said: “It’s been lovely to get to know women and girls from across the county and be able to play a part in making them feel safer in their communities.
“We’ve received some great feedback so far, with one woman describing the walks as empowering and another who doesn’t usually go out in the evenings saying she felt safe and enjoyed talking to other women.
“You don’t need to let us know in advance – just turn up and join in!
“We’re passionate about building trust and want to create a safer environment for women and girls across the county so please get involved.”
