A 40-year-old man has been charged with vehicle interference after it is alleged he was trying to enter cars in a Bedworth Street.
The incident happened at around 1.35pm on Saturday (16 September) in Newcomen Road.
A couple of hours later officers spotted a man matching a description of the offender and arrested him.
Following his arrest, it is alleged he spat at a police officer and spat in the police car and holding cell.
Christopher Boyd of no fixed abode was charged with vehicle interference, assaulting an emergency worker and two counts of criminal damage. He appeared at Coventry Magistrates’ Court today (Monday 18 September) where he was remanded in custody to appear at Warwick Crown Court on 16 October.
