Did you flag down a police officer to report an assault in Stratford yesterday (Tuesday)?
One of our PCs was stopped by a member of the public at the back of the police station shortly after midday to tell her an assault was taking place in Firs Garden on Grove Road.
The officer attended the scene and a 30-year-old man from Birmingham was arrested on suspicion of common assault. He has been bailed until next month.
When the officer returned to get the member of the public’s contact details, they had left the area.
We’re continuing to investigate the incident and as part of our ongoing enquiries we’d like to speak to the member of the public as a witness.
If it was you, please get in touch with us.
We’re also keen for anyone who was in the area at the time to come forward.
Anyone with information should contact the force or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 quoting incident 157 of 12 September.
