A 43-year-old man from Bedworth was arrested yesterday (6 November) following a reported incident of assault and criminal damage at a pub on Abbey Street, Nuneaton.
At around 9:40pm, police were called after reports of a man allegedly being disruptive at the pub on Abbey Street.
After allegedly having been drinking for some time, the man reportedly hit one member of the public in the face with a menu.
After reportedly being escorted from the venue by members of staff, he allegedly started trying to smash the windows of the venue, broke a glass bottle against the outside wall, and smashed one of the chairs.
The man was arrested a short time later on suspicion of criminal damage and common assault.
PC Trotter said “Pubs are not creches for delinquents – they should not have to tolerate patrons throwing a tantrum once they’ve been asked to leave.
“If you think you’ve hit the point of one too many, it might be time to go home.”
