Charges after robbery in Bedworth

David Burke, a 45-year-old man of no fixed abode, was charged yesterday under suspicion of attempted robbery after an incident took place in Church Way, Bedworth on Tuesday 13 June.

The suspect allegedly grabbed the bag of the victim and demanded money. When the victim refused, the suspect was reported to have punched her in the stomach.

The victim’s stepson arrived and detained the suspect until police arrived and arrested him.

David will appear in Warwick Crown Court on 13 July.
