In the morning of Friday 16 June, a 17-year-old woman and a 31-year-old man from Nuneaton were arrested for alleged criminal damage and assaulting a police officer.
The police were called after both suspects were reported to be throwing barrels against the back door of a pub in Nuneaton.
On arrest in the car park at the nearby ASDA, both individuals punched and kicked at the attending police officers, causing injury.
Officer in charge Constable Tom Rowley said “There are better ways of gaining access to a pub – through the front doors during opening hours, being our main preference.
“All else aside, we take the assault of any officers very seriously, and will always take a zero-tolerance approach to anti-social behaviour in the community.”
