In the early hours of this morning (Thursday 6 June), two men from London (one aged 30 and the other aged 35) were arrested following a metal theft in Water Orton.
Police received a report that that two intruders were allegedly passing metal over a fence at a scrap processing company.
After less than 30 minutes of searching, two men were discovered and arrested on suspicion of theft.
Sergeant Adam Skelsey said “Thanks to the quick responses of the company owners and their security measures, as well as our patrol officers, we were able to apprehend two suspects within half an hour.
“Metal theft can be quite lucrative, but good security measures will make it a lot less tempting for any potential opportunists.”
