Warwickshire Road Safety Partnership is encouraging bikers to sign up for FREE BikeSafe motorcycle skills training.

Bikers can get instant access to the training that can be used either as a skills refresher for more experienced bikers, to help identify potential gaps in your knowledge if you haven’t had much training, or to provide a good overview of the skills needed for newer bikers. As well as hazard awareness, the training covers corners and overtaking, junctions, and filtering.

Those who complete the training will also be entered into a FREE prize draw to win biker related goodies – so please sign up today.

For those who prefer to learn face to face, there are a few remaining spaces available on BikeSafe at Leek Wootton in Warwickshire on 1, 8 and 15 October.  The July, August and September courses are now fully booked but there is a waiting list if these are the only dates you can do.

Whatever you decide to do, it’s always a good idea to stay open to learning.  It’s good for your mental health and your physical health as it should result in you becoming a safer and more skilful biker.  The net result of that is by improving your skills you also increase your enjoyment of the road.  Post-test motorcycle training is also available via IAM, RoSPA and the DVSA Enhanced Rider Scheme.

The in-person BikeSafe courses are designed to improve your knowledge and skills in a relaxed classroom environment before taking to the road on your motorbike to ride some of the more challenging routes through Warwickshire.  You will be observed by a highly skilled professional police motorcyclist who will then provide feedback and information to improve your skills further to help you stay as safe as possible, whilst most importantly, maximising your enjoyment of your time on your bike.

Regional BikeSafe Coordinator Sergeant Shaun Bridle said “If someone in your family is a biker, please encourage them to use the FREE training. BikeSafe is a national police run motorcycle initiative and the in person course also makes a great gift with the added benefit that it could help improve their safety.”

The FREE BikeSafe training and prize draw entry is available here: https://bikesafe.co.uk/warwickshire/skilful-safe-seen
