Three arrests have been made following a report of threatening behaviour at a bar in Nuneaton.
A 30-year-old man from Nuneaton has been arrested on suspicion of burglary, a 22-year-old man from Coventry has been arrested on suspicion of possession of firearms and being involved in the supply of cocaine, and a 44-year-old man from Nuneaton has been arrested on suspicion of possession of a knife and possession of cocaine with intent to supply.
Police were initially called after the 30-year-old man reported being threatened with a firearm at the bar. On arrival at 2:30am, police arrested him on suspicion of burglary following a separate incident that had taken place on 7 August.
Officers proceeded to search the premises, and discovered a large brick of white powder, alleged to be cocaine, along with a quantity of cash.
A car belonging to the 44-year-old man was also searched, and another large quantity of white powder and cash was also found.
The 44-year-old man and the 22-year-old man were then arrested at around 3am.
All three are still in custody at time of writing.
Detective Sergeant Alan Gardner said “There’s a lot going on here, but – if it needs to be reiterated – the long and short of it is:
“We don’t tolerate people making violent threats, we don’t tolerate waving guns or knives around, we don’t tolerate burglars, and we don’t tolerate the drugs trade or the gangs it funds.”
