Officers investigating a report of a distraction burglary in Nuneaton have arrested a 36-year-old man from Nuneaton.
The incident happened in March at an address in the town centre.
The victim – a woman in her 30s – reported that two men came to her door claiming to be debt collectors and demanding money. They stated she had to pay £560 within an hour or they would remove items from the property.
While they were in the address it is believed one of the men stole the woman’s purse and the other man tried to take the television.
Enquiries identified the man as a suspect and he was arrested after his car was stopped on the A5 near Nuneaton yesterday (Monday 3 October) evening.
Enquiries are ongoing.
