A Bedworth man has been arrested following a police pursuit.
In the early hours of this morning (Thursday) officers spotted a black Range Rover they suspected to be stolen on Bennetts Road North in Keresley.
They attempted to stop the vehicle, but it failed to stop and made off from police.
A pursuit followed and the police helicopter was deployed before the vehicle is understood to have rolled into a lamppost on Vicarage Lane in Bedworth.
Minor damage was sustained to the vehicle and no-one was injured.
A 20-year-old man from Bedworth was arrested on suspicion of theft of motor vehicle and dangerous driving and after a drugs test was carried out in custody, he was further arrested on suspicion of driving – excess drugs.
He remains in police custody at this time.
Enquiries are currently ongoing and officers are keen for anyone who was in the area, who has any dashcam footage of the pursuit or any information that could help to come forward.
Anyone with information should report it online or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
