Appeal for information following attempted robbery – Nuneaton

Warwickshire Police is appealing for witnesses or information following an attempted robbery in Nuneaton this morning (Saturday 26 March).
Shortly after 11am, a woman in her 30s was walking her dog in Whittleford Park (near to Haunchwood Road) when a man approached her and tried to grab the dog’s lead.
It’s reported the victim was then assaulted, and sustained an injury to her stomach which required medical treatment.
The dog was not stolen or injured.
The suspect is described as a man wearing black, of a slim build, around 5’8”-5’9” in height.
Investigating officer, Det Sgt Suzanne Charlton from Warwickshire Police, said: “We’re appealing for any witnesses to this incident, which has left the victim understandably shaken.
“A number of enquiries are now ongoing to identify and locate the offender, and we would ask anyone who was in the area at the time or who may have seen or heard anything suspicious to please come forward.
“Officers will be in the area over the coming days as part of their enquiries. If anyone has any information or concerns, please speak to them or call Warwickshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 149 of 26 March 2022.”
