Officers seized more than 400 cannabis plants after executing a warrant at a disused commercial premises in Bath Street, Leamington.
The warrant was executed yesterday (Wednesday 19 January) by officers from the Leamington Safer Neighbourhood Team as part of National Neighbourhood Policing Week. They were supported by the Warwickshire Police tasking team.
The tasking team used specialist equipment to force entry to the premises where they discovered the plants being grown across three floors.
The fire brigade had to be called after suspects at the property fled on to the roof. A crane was used to check there was nobody else on the roof.
Sergeant Trent McMurray from Leamington Safer Neighbourhood Team said: "This seizure of the cannabis was an intelligence led operation based on information provided by the community. A key part of neighbourhood policing is engaging with members of the community and building links that help us better understand local issues.
"We are always looking for information on the use and production of drugs and will always act on information."
Ibrahim Cura, 26, of no fixed abode has been charged with producing cannabis and criminal damage.
Ilirian Nebiu, 23, of Bath Street, Leamington as charged with producing cannabis.
Both men will appear at Coventry Magistrates’ Court today.
