An appeal for witnesses has been launched following an attempted robbery yesterday (Tuesday 3 May).
The incident occurred in Greenmoor Road, in Nuneaton, at around 8.00pm. The suspect had engaged the victim – a teenage boy – in conversation before hitting him over the head with a bike tyre and attempting to steal his bike. The suspect made off empty handed. The victim was not badly hurt.
The offender is described as being white and aged 15-16. He was wearing a full blue Nike tracksuit and white trainers. He was carrying a bike tyre and was last seen heading in the direction of Henry Street.
Inspector Matt Craddock said: “We have a detailed description of the suspect and we believe that someone will recognise him from this description. There will also have been quite a few people in the area at the time who may be able to help with our enquiries.
“If you have any information, or CCTV or dash cam footage that could assist the investigation please contact us on 101 quoting incident 355 of 3 March 2022. Alternatively call Crimestoppers, the independent charity, anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
