Officers are appealing for witnesses and information in connection with an aggravated burglary in Coventry yesterday.
The incident took place at approximately 10.15pm when two men forced their way into a house in Flude Road, through the front door.
One of the two occupants inside, a 71-year-old man, sustained serious injuries, believed to be inflicted by a hammer, and is currently undergoing hospital treatment.
The suspects were described as two males, approximately 5’8 tall, wearing dark clothing and masks. It is believed they made off on foot.
Anyone who witnessed suspicious activity or has information, doorbell or dashcam footage that could assist enquiries should call 101 quoting incident reference 376 of 6 April.
