Warwickshire Police is appealing for witnesses or information following a violent disorder in Atherstone Town Centre in the early hours of Sunday morning (5 September 2021).
A woman was assaulted by a man on Church Street at around 2am, sustaining injuries to her face and head. The suspect then assaulted another two men when they intervened to help the woman.
A 35-year-old man from Atherstone was arrested on suspicion of Actual Bodily Harm and is currently being held in police custody.
This is believed to be an isolated incident and investigations are continuing.
PC Iona Brown said “We believe that there were numerous witnesses to this incident and we are appealing for anyone who saw anything or has phone/dash-cam footage taken at this time and in this area to come forward.
Anyone with information can report this to us on-line or call 101 quoting incident number 53 of 5 September 2021.”
