Officers are appealing for witnesses to a suspected road rage and criminal damage incident in Tamworth.
A man was driving along the A4907 from Picadilly towards Dunton Island around 12.54pm yesterday (Sunday) when a vehicle – a blue Audi A7 – is reported to have begun driving closely behind him.
The man tapped his brakes and the vehicle was overtaken by the Audi, which then came to a stop.
Shortly afterwards, the driver of the Audi is understood to have got out of his car and approached the man’s vehicle.
A verbal altercation broke out before the Audi driver is reported to have got on the bonnet of the man’s vehicle and punched the windscreen twice – causing it to smash.
The Audi driver is then believed to have got back into his car and driven away.
Enquiries are currently ongoing and we are keen for any witnesses that saw what happened to come forward.
Anyone with information is asked to call 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 quoting incident 176 of 7 November.
