At around 2.10pm on Sunday 14 March the deer was attacked in the wood which is on Robeys Lane, Alvecote.
The owner of the dogs is also reported to have stolen a security camera from the site.
Officers are trying to identify the man pictured below who may have information that could help with their enquiries.
Anyone who recognises this man or has any information that could help police with their enquiries should call 101 quoting incident 190 of 14 March 2021. Alternatively, information can be provided anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
