Three people have been arrested for theft offences, after a vehicle was stopped in Ryton last week.
At around 7.45pm on Friday (28 August), officers from the Vehicle Crime Team and OPU stopped a black BMW 5 series.
Suspected false number plates were found inside the vehicle.
A 25-year-old woman, a 33-year-old woman and a 38-year-old man were all arrested on suspicion of theft. They have been released under investigation whilst enquiries are ongoing.
