Were you on Ivanhoe Avenue in Nuneaton shortly after midnight on Wednesday (14 October?)?
We are appealing for witnesses to an aggravated burglary and would like to hear from people who saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area.
A man is reported to have forced entry into property and assaulted the occupant – a man in his 70s - before removing a silver cigarette case. The victim was uninjured but left shaken by the incident.
The man – who left in an unknown direction – is described as white, around 6ft 6in tall, of muscular build with dark hair.
He is understood to have had his face covered during the incident.
Detective Sergeant Jenny Baker said: "Enquiries are currently ongoing and we are keen for anyone who saw the incident to come forward.
"We would also ask for anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in the area or who has information, which would help with enquiries to please get in touch.
"Any details, no matter how small, could be important in our investigation.”
Anyone with information is asked to call 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111 quoting incident number 5 of 14 October.
