A man is being treated in hospital after he was found with a serious stab wound to his chest in Church Street, Rugby.
Detectives are appealing for witnesses to the incident which was reported to police at around 4.40pm.
The man was found near the junction with Railway Terrace. His injuries are described as life threatening.
Detective Sergeant Mark Calvert from Rugby Serious and Complex Crime Team said: “This investigation is in its very early stages. We have reports the victim was involved in an altercation with a number of other males prior to suffering the stab wound. We’re keen to speak to anyone who witnessed this incident or has any other information that could help with our enquiries.”
Anyone with information that could help police with their investigation should call 101 quoting incident 318. Alternatively, information can be provided anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
