A 27-year-old man has been arrested following a robbery in Nuneaton.
Police were called to the scene in Beaumont Road at 11.48am on New Year’s Day after the suspect had threatened a man in his 30s before taking cash and fleeing.
Officers were promptly on the scene and within nine minutes the suspect had been located and detained.
The suspect who is from Nuneaton has been bailed until the end of January while enquiries continue.
PC Garry Starkey said: “As part of our ongoing enquiries we’re appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time and saw any suspicious activity to get in touch with us.”
Anyone with information is urged to contact Warwickshire Police on 101 quoting incident 248 of 1 January 2020. Alternatively, information can be provided anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
