Warwickshire police officers investigating an incident where a woman suffered serious injuries after a car collided with her have arrested a man.
Officers were called at 12.31pm on Friday 14 August to a report of the road traffic collision in Newbold Street, Leamington. The driver of the car failed to stop at the scene of the accident.
The woman in her 70s was taken to hospital with serious injuries to her leg and torso. She remains in hospital.
Officers carrying out enquiries arrested a 27-year-old man from Stratford on suspicion of failing to stop at the scene of an accident. He was released under investigation while enquiries continue.
Officers are appealing anyone with further information to contact Warwickshire Police on 101 quoting incident 155 of 14 August 2020. Alternatively, information can be provided anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
