An officer on patrol in Nuneaton has arrested two men after he smelt cannabis coming from a parked car.
The officer was on patrol on Thursday (17 October) evening in Bradestone Road when he became suspicious of the men.
He arrested the man in the driver seat – a 21-year-old man from Nuneaton – and later cautioned him for possession of cannabis.
Following a search of the car officers seized a baton after which the man in passenger sear fled the vehicle. A 27-year-old man from Nuneaton was arrested a short distance away on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon. He was bailed while enquiries continue.
