Warwickshire Police is appealing for witnesses following a fatal collision in Coleshill Road, Ansley Common near Nuneaton, yesterday afternoon (Saturday 2 November).
At around 2.40pm, police received reports that a child on a bike had been in collision with a car. Emergency services attended and a doctor who was passing the scene also provided treatment to a 11-year-old boy. The child was taken by ambulance to University Hospital Coventry, where he was sadly pronounced deceased. His family has been informed and being assisted by a Family Liaison Officer.
A spokesperson for the Warwickshire Police Serious Collision Investigation Team said: “This is a tragic incident and we’re appealing to anyone who may have witnessed what happened or was passing with dash cameras in this location to please contact us.
“Our thoughts are with the boy’s family at this time.”
A male has been arrested in connection with the incident and later released under investigation.
