FOI 506-2023 / May 2023 / M6 – M42 Slip road

FREEDOM OF INFORMATION REQUEST REFERENCE NO: FOI-506-2023

 

I write in connection with your request for information which was received on 15^th May 2023 follows:

 

1. The number of cars travelling south bound on M6 slip 4a to M42 per hour on Saturday 15 April 2023 and Sunday 16 April 2023 between 12:00 and 19:00.   The number to exclude large vehicles such as lorries and buses.

 

2. The number of cars recorded to have exceeded the temporary speed limit travelling south bound on M6 slip 4a to M42 per hour on Saturday 15 April 2023 and Sunday 16 April 2023 between 12:00 and 19:00.   The number to exclude large vehicles such as lorries and buses.

 

3. The times of day when there was slow moving traffic (travelling at less than 40 mph) or queues on the above section of road on the above dates.

 

4. Provide information how the temporary speed limit on the above section of road on Sunday 16 April 2023 was displayed to drivers and times on Sunday when it was in operation.

 

5. Indicate on a map the start and end of the temporary speed limit on the above section of road on Sunday 16 April 2023.

Q3 response: Warwickshire Police do not no capture traffic flow; therefore, our response is ‘No information held’.

 

Q4 response: There is a Temporary speed limit of 50mph, displayed using roadside gateway and repeater signs, in compliance with the Traffic Sign Regulations and General Directions 2016.  This has been displayed since the scheme went live on the 4th August 2022.
