Police Appeal Following Attempted Robbery In Leamington Spa

Warwickshire Police are appealing for witnesses following an attempted robbery on Brunswick Street, Old Town, Leamington Spa on Monday evening.(16th March)

At approximately 11.05pm the victim, a woman in her twenties, was approached by a man who punched her to side of the head, before demanding her mobile phone from her. She sustained minor injuries.

The victim was able to run across the road, where she alerted a man, who then chased the suspect, who made off in the direction of Whitnash.

The suspect is described as a mixed race or olive skinned man, with short brown hair, of average to larger build, around 5"7-5"8 and in his 20's to 30's. At the time of the incident he was wearing a dark brown suede jacket, with a lighter top underneath and black trousers.

Police are urging anyone who may have been in the area at the time, and witnessed the incident to contact PSI Keith Duncan in Leamington Proactive Unit on 101 quoting incident number 352 of 16th March.
