Police Appeal Following Robbery In Leamington Spa

Police are appealing for witnesses and information after a woman was robbed in Leamington Spa.

The incident happened on Sunday 8 February between 4.30pm and 5pm on Shrubland Street.

A 35-year-old woman was walking when she was approached from behind and physically assaulted, causing her to fall to the floor. The offender then stole her beige coloured shoulder bag and shopping bags. He made off in the direction of East Grove.

The victim sustained major facial and head injuries, requiring treatment at Warwick Hospital.

Anyone with information or who saw the victim's bags nearby, is asked to call police on 101, quoting incident 268 of Sunday 8 February.

• A 27-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the robbery. He has been bailed until Monday 13 April pending further inquiries.
