Man, 46, arrested for allegedly assaulting emergency workers in Bulkington

A 46-year-old man from Bulkington has been arrested after a police officer and paramedic were assaulted as they responded to an incident in Bulkington yesterday (Sunday 16 June) evening.

Officers attended an address in New Street at around 5pm following a report that a woman in her 30s had been assaulted at the property.

Upon arrival officers were concerned for the welfare of the suspect and called an ambulance.

When the ambulance arrived the paramedic was assaulted, being struck to the chest and leg.

A police officer based at Bedworth police station was also assaulted as she detained the suspect. She suffered a minor leg injury.

Neither the paramedic or police officer required hospital treatment.

The man was arrested on suspicion of assaulting emergency workers, assault and causing fear or provocation of violence. He remains in police custody.
