Nuneaton man charged with 18 offences

A Nuneaton man has been charged in connection with 18 offences including burglary, robbery, theft and motoring offences.

Andrew Barnes, 28, of Tudor Road, Nuneaton, was arrested yesterday (Tuesday 21 May) and later charged with two counts of burglary, one count of robbery, five counts of theft of motor vehicle, five counts of driving without a licence and five counts of driving without insurance.

One of the burglaries occurred in Green Lane, Nuneaton, on 22 April. Offenders broke into a house and stole cash and three cars.

The second burglary occurred at a house in Camp Hill Road, Nuneaton, on 26 April. Offenders forced entry and stole a car.

The robbery occurred at a house in Weddington, Nuneaton, on 14 May. A man broke into the house, threatened the owner and stole a car.

Barnes appeared at Warwickshire Magistrates' Court this morning where he was remanded in custody to appear at Warwickshire Crown Court on 20 June.
