Two arrested after disorder in Nuneaton street

Two people are in custody after a man suffered a stab wound during a disturbance on a Nuneaton Street yesterday evening (Tuesday 14 May).

The incident occurred in The Long Shoot, between the junctions with the A5 and Summerhill Drive, at between 7.30pm and 8.00pm.

Police believe the disturbance involved three males.

A 19-year-old man was taken to hospital with a stab wound to the side of his body. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

A 17-year-old boy from Nuneaton was arrested on suspicion of assault and possession of a knife, and an 18-year-old man from Nuneaton has been arrested on suspicion of committing a public order offence.

Detective Inspector Lisa Sears from Nuneaton CID said: "At this time we believe the three males involved were known to each other. We're appealing for anyone with information to contact police and especially keen to speak to anyone who has CCTV or dash cam footage from the area around the time of the incident."
