Appeal for help to find two war service medals stolen

We are appealing to anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity on Abingdon Way in Nuneaton on Thursday 28 March 2019 to get in touch with us. A house on this street was burgled between 6.30pm and 8.40pm.

A quantity of cash had been taken from the house. Also amongst the items taken were two war service medals. These date back to the First World War and the Crimean War and hold significant personal value to the victim.

Investigating officer, PC Robin Durrant said: "Naturally, the family are very upset and I am appealing to anyone who may have found or have any knowledge of the whereabouts of these medals. They cannot be replaced and are of course very personal to the man whose family members served their country. I would also ask that antiques dealers and pawn brokers be alert to anyone offering them items similar to those described.

"If you can help with our investigation please call 101 quoting incident 404 of the 28 March 2019.

"Alternatively, if you want to give information but don't want to give your name you can call the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111"

Unfortunately there are no photographs of the medals at this time.
