Man charged with imitation firearms offence in Nuneaton

An investigation into an alleged imitation firearms offence in Nuneaton has led to a man being charged.

Rikki Aucott, 30, of no fixed abode but residing in Nuneaton, was arrested in the town on Monday (4 March) and has subsequently been charged with possession of an imitation firearm in a public place.

The charge relates to a report of an incident at a petrol station in Lutterworth Road on Saturday (2 March), during which it is alleged a man was carrying an imitation firearm.

Aucott has also been charged with attempted theft from a motor vehicle in connection with an incident in Mayfield Road, Nuneaton, on Friday (1 March).

He appeared at Warwick Magistrates' Court yesterday (Tuesday 5 March) where he was remanded in custody to appear at the same court on 12 March.
