Warwick Rural East Community Forum Priorities to be completed by 19-JUN-2019 - Completed

Issue

1. Due to a number of anti-social behaviour incidents reported in the Cubbington/New Cubbington area there is concern from members of the public.

2. With the onset of lighter nights/evenings there is concern for potential anti-social behaviour in Radford Semele. Local representatives have also highlighted parking concerns on Lewis Road, Radford Semele.

3. There is concern from members of the public in relation to excess vehicle speed on Coventry Road, Baginton between the village shop and Oak Close.

Suggestion

1. Anti-Social Behaviour/Reassurance Patrols - Cubbington/New Cubbington: To prevent/deal with offences and to provide reassurance to members of the local community, conduct a minimum of 15 dedicated high-visibility patrols.  

2. Anti-Social Behaviour/Reassurance Patrols - Radford Semele: To prevent/deal with offences and to provide reassurance to members of the local community, conduct a minimum of 15 dedicated high-visibility patrols. To include monitoring inconsiderate/obstructive parking on Lewis Road, as highlighted by local representatives.

3. Speed Checks/Monitoring - Coventry Road, Baginton: To prevent/deal with speeding motorists, promote speed reduction/awareness, educate motorists and provide reassurance to the local community, conduct a minimum of 10 speed checks/monitoring sessions.

Action

1. Anti-Social Behaviour/Reassurance Patrols - Cubbington/New Cubbington

  • Between 13-FEB-2019 (priorities set) and 19-JUN-2019 Warwick Rural East SNT conducted 15 dedicated patrols in Cubbington parish. Members of the public and businesses were engaged with on a regular basis. WRE SNT monitored locations where residents had raised concern in relation to drug activity and anti-social behaviour. WRE SNT also conducted a patrol with Warwickshire Fire & Rescue Service, targeting anti-social behaviour and educating young persons in relation to fire safety.

2. Anti-Social Behaviour/Reassurance Patrols - Radford Semele

  • Between 13-FEB-2019 (priorities set) and 19-JUN-2019 Warwick Rural East SNT conducted 15 dedicated patrols in Radford Semele parish. Members of the public and businesses were engaged with on a regular basis. WRE SNT monitored locations where residents had raised concern in relation to anti-social behaviour. Parking advice flyers were provided to all properties on Lewis Road. Following concern from residents, speed awareness signs were installed and 'slow down' stickers were provided to households on Lewis Road. Following a report from a resident regarding a suspected abandoned vehicle on Lewis Road, the vehicle was recovered due to expired tax and MOT. Two young males who had been causing vehicular anti-social behaviour in the village attended a young driver awareness course held by PCSO Sharron Underwood and a representative from Warwickshire Fire & Rescue Service.

3. Speed Checks/Monitoring - Coventry Road, Baginton

  • Between 13-FEB-2019 (priorities set) and 19-JUN-2019 Warwick Rural East SNT conducted 10 speed checks/monitoring sessions on Coventry Road, Baginton. 50 warning letters were sent to motorists for exceeding the 30mph speed limit. Fastest recorded vehicles: x2 49mph in 30mph. 1 motorist reported to their employer for exceeding the speed limit. An information marker was placed against 1 vehicle on the Police National Computer in relation to speeding. The 10 sessions totalled 640 minutes, averaging 64 minutes per session. Warwickshire Police Camera Enforcement Unit installed their monitoring equipment at the location. The data/report has been provided to Baginton Parish Council.
