Appeal for witnesses following fatal collision - Rugby

Officers are continuing to appeal for witnesses following a fatal collision in Rugby yesterday evening (Sunday 3 February).

Police were called shortly before 6.45pm to a report of a collision between a blue Nissan car and a pedestrian on Bilton Road.

The pedestrian, a woman in her 60s, sustained serious injuries and sadly died at the scene.

A 54-year-old man from Rugby was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and driving while under the influence of drugs, and a 35-year-old man from Rugby was later arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. They are both currently in police custody.

Officers are continuing to appeal to anyone who witnessed the collision or who may have any dashcam footage to please come forward. If you have any information, please call Warwickshire Police on 101, quoting incident 325 of 3 February 2019.
