Warwickshire Police charges boy with intent to supply class A drugs in Nuneaton

A boy from Liverpool has been charged with being in possession of class A drugs with intent to supply.

The boy, aged 17, was arrested on Tuesday (22 January) following a foot pursuit on the canal towpath near the Cock and Bear Bridge close to Tomkinson Road, Nuneaton. The pursuit started after officers from the Nuneaton Offender Management Unit spotted two men acting suspiciously in the area.

The boy was initially arrested for breach of bail conditions and failure to appear at Liverpool Crown Court.

Following a search of the boy in the Nuneaton custody block, heroin and crack cocaine were seized.

The boy was charged with possession of heroin and crack cocaine with intent to supply. He is due to appear at Coventry Youth Court today (Thursday 24 January).

Following the pursuit a 19-year-old man from Liverpool was also arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and failure to stop following an incident on 16 January 2018.

Officers from the Offender Management Unit have thanked local people for their assistance during the pursuit.
