M42 reopens following fatal collision

Junctions 10 and 11 have now reopened following a collision on the northbound carriageway in the early hours of this morning (Wednesday 9 January).

At around 2.45am, police were informed a pedestrian had been hit by a black Scania lorry on the motorway.

Sadly, the pedestrian, a man believed to be in his twenties, died as a result of the collision.

No arrests have been made.

Road closures were in place whilst emergency services were in attendance. Both carriageways were fully reopened by around 11.45am this morning.
