Three arrested following police pursuit

Three men have been arrested after a high-speed police pursuit through Nuneaton.

Officers tried to stop a Seat Leon after they spotted it travelling at speed on Roanne Ringway on Tuesday (11 December) night.

But after the car failed to stop for police, officers began pursuing it as the suspect vehicle mounted pavements and hit speeds of 100 miles per hour.

The suspects abandoned the car in Omaha Road, Hinckley, and attempted to flee before being detained by officers.

A 20-year-old man from Leicester was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, possession of class B drugs and theft of the motor vehicle.

A 19-year-old man from Hinckley was arrested on suspicion of theft of the motor vehicle.

A 19-year-old man from Hinckley was arrested on suspicion of failure to stop, dangerous driving and theft of the motor vehicle.

The men were arrested as part of Operation Diorite, a campaign to tackle vehicle crime in Warwickshire.

All three have been released under investigation while enquiries continue.
