CORRECTED: Modern slavery investigation: Man appears in Warwick court

A man has appeared in court charged with modern slavery offences.

Ermal Lushaj, 33, of Abbey Street, Rugby, appeared at court charged with three counts of arranging or facilitating the travel of another person with a view to exploitation, three counts of holding a person in slavery or servitude, and one count of assault.

He was arrested following warrants at a hand car wash in Rugby and his house in Abbey Street on Wednesday (28 November).

Lushaj was remanded in custody to appear at Warwick Crown Court on 3 January 2019.
