Appeal for witnesses following two separate incidents in Bedworth street

Police are appealing for witnesses following two separate incidents in Cadman Close, Bedworth.

The first incident occurred at around 8.30pm on Friday 16 November. A taxi was damaged by a group of men after the driver had made a drop off.

The driver of the silver Peugeot Expert dropped a man off on Cadman Close. A short time later the driver saw the man being chased by the group. The man jumped back in the taxi and the group started hitting the vehicle with baseball bats and metal bars. The male then jumped out of the taxi and ran towards Tesco in Bedworth being chased by the group of people.

A few hours later, at 1.55am on 17 November, police received reports that the door of a house on Cadman Close was on fire. This incident is being treated as arson.

Officers believe the two incidents may be linked and are appealing for anyone with information to contact police.

Detective Constable Karl Roberts said: "Both of these incidents are extremely concerning. I would appeal to anyone in the area who may have witnessed either incident or anything suspicious to contact us."

Anyone with information is asked to contact Warwickshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 39 of 17 November 2018. Alternatively, information can be provided anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
