Kieran Redhead, 32, and his accomplice Charlie Louise Huddlestone, 23, gained entry to a house in Cave Close, Rugby, in September 2017 and stole cash and bank cards.

They used the cards to make several cash withdraws.

The victim was alerted to the illegal withdrawals and contacted police.

Detective Constable Gary Hammond from the Rugby Offender Management Unit attended the address and identified Redhead and Huddlestone from CCTV images. They were both arrested and charged with the offences.

Redhead, of Faraday Road, Rugby, and Huddlestone, of Warwick Road, Wolstone, both pleaded guilty to burglary and fraud.

Appearing at Warwick Crown Court last week, Redhead, of Faraday Road, Rugby, was sentenced to three years in prison.

Huddlestone, of Warwick Road, Wolstone, was given a 21 month prison sentence suspended for two years. She was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £140.

DC Hammond said: "This was a brazen crime as the offenders walked into the property while the victim was at home and stole cash and bank cards. Fortunately, the victim was alerted to the suspicious activity on his account and promptly called police. We identified the suspects and they have been brought to justice."
