The other two children, an eight-year-old girl and a 10-year-old boy, are being treated in hospital for smoke inhalation and burns.

The woman, 28, is being treated for burns in hospital.

At this time the fire, which was reported to police at 2.46am this morning (Thursday 15 November), is being treated as suspicious.

Detective Inspector Paul Thompson said: "This was an extremely serious incident that has left a woman and three children injured.

"Our top priority at the moment is working with the fire brigade to establish the cause of the fire.

"In the meantime, I would ask for anyone who was in the area at the time who saw anything suspicious or anyone with dash cam footage to get in touch with police. We'd also like to hear from anyone who has any mobile phone footage of the fire.

"There will be an increased police presence in the area over the next few days as officers investigate the fire and to provide reassurance to the community."

Anyone with information can call 101 quoting incident 29 of 15 November 2018. Alternatively, information can be provided anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
