Police arrest man after report of serious assault in Rugby

A man has been questioned by police investigating a serious assault in Rugby.

The assault is reported to have happened in Jubilee Street, Rugby, at around 2.30pm yesterday (Wednesday 7 November).

The 30-year-old man from Rugby was arrested on suspicion of assault. He has been bailed until December while investigations continue.

The victim, a 37-year-old man, was taken to hospital with a serious head injury. He is currently in a stable condition.

Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or has information that could help police with their enquiries to call 101 quoting incident 254 of 7 November 2018. Alternatively, information can be provided anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
